Last Respect Cover Set For Renewal In October 2020

The Last Respect cover by CIC Insurance Group Ltd. is due for renewal on October 10, 2020.

``This is a perfect opportunity for those who wish to join this very important community welfare benefits programme,’’

Syokimau Residents Association Office Manager Michael Wachira says.

Those covered under the Last Respect insurance policy receive financial relief in the time of loss which helps families deal with grief rather than worry about funeral expenses.

The Welfare and Publicity Committee identified this need within our community and many residents have benefited since the arrangement began in 2016.

Our policy is flexible and allows two clusters of coverage. For an annual premium of 3,250 shillings, a member gets coverage of 100,000 shillings for each death in the family and for a premium of 6,250 shillings per annum, a member gets a pay-out of 200,000 shillings for the death of each person covered under the insurance policy.

Under the policy, the principal member and his or her spouse should have a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum age of 75 years at entry. The maximum coverage age is 85 years.

For minors, the minimum age at entry is one month while the maximum is 18 years. Children who are still students are covered up to 24 years on providing proof of being a student. Parents of a principal member should have a maximum age of 80 years at entry and are covered up to when they reach 85 years.

Benefits are paid within 48 hours of notification subject to proof of death. Benefits are processed upon receipt of the following mandatory documents: copy of burial permit, copy of deceased Members identity card, claim form completed and signed by the association and a police abstract in case of unnatural death such as an accident.
