Insecurity & Land Grabbing along Airport Road

In the recent past, a very disturbing Security scenario has been developing at the junction of Airport Road and the Notre Dame link road. Among the developments are,

1. Illegal roadside kiosks allegedly engaging in illicit trades including drinking dens for illicit liquor
2. Harassment of pedestrians especially women and children mostly in the evening hours
3. Illegal road grabbing.

The above has become a serious security threat for the residents of Syokimau and the SRA Security team and EXCOM led by our Chair addressed the matter with the seriousness it deserves as hereunder:

Today 16th November 2021 the Mavoko Municipal Manager / The Village Admin / The Acting Chief and the Mavoko Inspectorate Commander, together with the SRA Team and residents of Airport Road have conducted a planned meeting at the site to help the county team appreciate the grave situation developing right before our eyes. In the foregoing plans and strategies have been laid down and we expect progress towards removing this security threat within our neighbourhood. This being a security issue the details remains with the implementation team.

SRA hopes that this time around this issue will be dealt with conclusively. We are requesting the support of all residents and in this particular case the Airport Road residents to support SRA efforts in securing Syokimau. Should you see any security threat do not hesitate to volunteer the information to the SRA Security Team or the police for prompt action.
