SRA Education Fund (EDUFUND) Attracts New Partnerships

Dear Residents. Two months ago, the SRA Executive Committee through a board resolution initiated a community welfare project dubbed SRA EDUCATION FUND. SRA has come to the realization that in our midst we have very needy and venerable families that are not able to take their bright children to school. The SRA Welfare & Publicity Committee was tasked with the fund’s mandate and all operations of the fund. The Syokimau Community responded overwhelmingly to this appeal and SRA is very grateful to all residents for supporting the initiative with their resources. We are now happy to report that we managed to raise Kes 88,700 in the first round. We are very grateful for this kindness. The initial disbursements were paid straight to the respective schools’ accounts as follows.

SCHOOL NAMESTUDENTS NAMEAMOUNT
Kamahuha Girls (Muranga CountyWinnie Wanjiku KahathaKES 7,000
Maiani girls SecondaryRodha Kanini KaneeneKES 10,000
Ngelani High SchoolJackson Mbone KayiKES 16,600

Two of the students above are in form one and the other one was in form two. All three had already dropped out of school and were staring at an uncertain future. For the three to finish high school and if all things remain constant, the total required is Kes 350,940. The need within our community is great and SRA wishes to grow this fund and reach even more needy children. We are appealing to the residents to keep giving to this noble cause and together we can change lives for generations to come.

New Partnership with Syokimau Fellowship of Churches (SFC)

A noble idea and a worthy course will always attract more like-minded souls. The SFC caught wind of our initiative and has expressed interest to partner with SRA on this initiative. We can not contain our excitement about this new partnership. We highly appreciate the good gesture from SFC, We have partnered with the SFC in many other projects and this one goes a great length in adding a link to the chain. With SFC in the mix, this fund shall go much further towards helping the fund achieve its objectives of reaching the neediest within our community. We in a special way appreciate pastor Joseph Kariuki for making this a reality, May the almighty God bless him and his church members abundantly.

SRA Achieving More together.
