Gen Zs Answer the Call to Register as Voters!

As a community, we traditionally celebrate Mashujaa Day by honouring the heroes of our past generations. This season, however, Syokimau is witnessing the rise of a brand-new breed of heroes and heroines: our very own Gen Zs.

It has been incredibly encouraging to see our young people stepping up and registering as first-time voters in record numbers. Their enthusiasm and commitment to taking up their civic responsibilities are truly inspiring.

For the last three weekends, the Syokimau Residents Association (SRA), in collaboration with the IEBC, has worked to bring the voter registration exercise right to our neighbourhood. We brought the service closer, and our young residents have not disappointed. They have turned out in force, proving they are ready to make their voices heard.

To our Gen Zs: We are immensely proud of you. You are showing a powerful new sense of responsibility. To anyone who may have doubted your seriousness, let them come and see. You are grabbing your right to vote, and you are doing it in style!

The response has been fantastic. As of today, we were able to register [insert today’s number, e.g., XXXXX] new voters, bringing the total for this drive to an amazing [insert total number, e.g., XXXXX]! You are, without a doubt, our new mashujaa.

What About Vote Transfers?

To all residents who have been asking to transfer their votes to Syokimau, please know that we have heard you loud and clear. The SRA is in discussion with the IEBC to organize a special day dedicated to vote transfers. We will announce the date and details very soon, so please stay tuned.

Let’s continue this incredible momentum. Let us all consolidate our votes in Syokimau and prepare to speak in one, unified voice.
